FIFOG filmfest in Geneva to host Iranian ‘Inner Self’

Iranian short ‘Inner Self’ is to compete at the 2021 Geneva Int’l Oriental filmfest in Switzerland.

Iranian short flick ‘Inner Self’ has been selected to compete at the 16th edition of the Geneva International Oriental Film Festival (FIFOG) in Switzerland.

Directed by Mohammad Hormozi, the 15-minute flick follows the story of a female violinist who wants to enter an office but as she is not attired appropriately for the place, she must stay in the waiting room.

While waiting, the young woman copes with her frustration by composing a new piece.

An unexpected ally is moved by her performance and provides a last-minute solution to the violinist’s predicament.

‘Inner Self’ has gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Ojai Film Festival in the US, the International Short Film Festival – Film Front in Serbia, the Grand Off film festival in Poland, the Mediawave International Film Festival in Hungary, and the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.

The upcoming edition of the FIFOG will host around 40 films of all genres.

As the situation caused by COVID-19 made filmmakers to work in a difficult context, the FIFOG chose this theme to bring them more hope “Hope… a little, a lot, passionately”.

The 2021 edition of the event is slated for June 21-27.
